ABOUT
540 Fitness Systems

OUR MISSION

To Provide a community-based environment for individuals to pursue their own unique fitness goals in anbengaging and supportive environment.

How are we different?

Different workouts, methodologies, and training protocols provide different results. It is generally understood that a powerlifter and an endurance athlete will have different training methods. A runner who does not enjoy lifting weights does not want the programming of a powerlifter who is getting stronger, and vice versa.

YOU are unique.

What you enjoy is unique to YOU. The fitness goals that you want to achieve are also unique to YOU.

Accepting these facts led us to realize that the only way we could provide individualized results is by offering different programming options/systems.

The different systems that we regularly offer allow for our members are:

  • Endurance

  • Weightlifting

  • Olympic Weightlifting

  • Gymnastics

  • Aerobic Conditioning

  • Anaerobic Conditioning

  • Body Building

When you walk into 540FS to train, you can choose the primary workout of the day, or choose to focus on what interests you. You also have the option of layering your workout to focus on multiple disciplines each and every day to help you reach a myriad of goals, or to just keep your fitness journey fresh and interesting.

COMMUNITY

The BEST thing about 540FS is the community.

People know each other’s names.

Headphones are rarely worn.

They look forward to seeing their friends sessions each day.

Often times, people find themselves spending time OUTSIDE of the gym with people they have become close with in during their time at 540FS.

It is truly the magic that keeps this place going year after year.

Special events that we enjoy with our 540 Family includes our yearly Crawfish Boil and Cornhole Tourney, Christmas Party, In House Open, and Superbowl Party.

HISTORY

540 Fitness Systems began in 2009, but under a different name. CrossFit 540. CF540 was the 2nd CrossFit gym in Arkansas and we were excited to bring the phenomenon of ‘functional fitness’ to the state. CrossFit at that time was blowing up on the coasts but was relatively unknown in the center of the country. The program was a new way of training that many people had never heard of. The unique combination of lifting weights using multiple disciplines, anaerobic and aerobic training, gymnastics and more put a new spin on how people began to view their fitness programs.

CrossFit changed the game. People loved it. People hated it. But no one could argue that it wasn’t changing lives. However, as the training methodologies continued to advance, we learned more and more about how to best optimize peoples time in the gym to get the best results.

  • Heavy weights vs. Light weights

  • Volume based reps vs. Shorter intensity based reps

  • Isolation lifts, vs. Compound lifts

  • Explosive lifting vs. Controlled lifting

  • LSD (long slow distance) vs. Sprinting /Time trials

  • Body Building vs. Functional training

All of these training styles are excellent ways of training your body and can help you on your way to your fitness goals. However, all of these disciplines require a unique understanding of how to best utilize these methodologies for maximum benefits.

What is more, is that all of these different protocols deliver different results when used.

The question is, what are you wanting to accomplish?

As we delved into answering that question more and more over the years, we decided that CrossFit 540 needed to evolve. It needed to grow.
